CNA Courses Georgia

In the state of Georgia, if you are aiming to enter health care field, you must complete CNA Courses Georgia that comprises of 80 hours classroom theoretical course instruction and clinical hands-on experience. But, you must remember that the courses you attend must be accredited and approved by GA Board of Nursing.

The clinical training is conducted under the supervision of a qualified instructor or a RN. The programs attended by through high schools, community and vocational colleges, private schools, technical institutes and long term care facilities must also follow the requirements of state and OBRA-87 provisions.

The basic GA CNA course curriculum of includes on the learning of below given skills and knowledge that are essential for offering competent care to various types of patients in different health care facilities throughout the state:

Human anatomy course imparts knowledge on different types of human body systems, such as Skeletal System, Digestive System, Muscular System, Lymphatic System, Endocrine, Nervous, Cardiovascular and Urinary systems.

Basic nursing and clinical skills – instructs on the measurement of pulse rates, temperature, changing bandages, cleaning wounds, emptying bed pans, repositioning of the patients and others.

Emergency Care skills and CPR skills will increase your knowledge on the cares that can increase the survival chance of the victims till appropriate aid arrives.

Infection control course and skills comprises knowledge of preventing spread of infections around hospital. You are taught about the necessity of donning gloves, masks, covering coughs and sneezes, proper hand washing and other infection control procedures.

You are also instructed on courses, such as Nutrition, Medical terminology, Promoting and respecting of Patients’ rights and independence, care of dementia or cognitively suffered patients, mental health, communication and interpersonal skills, Restorative care, physiology and additional skills.
