CNA Certification in Nevada

The state approved CNA training program you opt for must provide at least of 75 hours of training with a minimum of 16 hours dedicated to both classroom learning and hands-on clinical setting. As per the federal laws, there are provisions of obtaining reimbursement for training and examination costs if you are employed as a nurse aide before, during, or within a year of completion of the program, making it an attractive choice for many. On completion of the CNA training program, you are then required to challenge and pass the state competency examination which is administered by Prometric. The exam consists of both a written/oral (having multiple-choice questions) and skills test (testing your efficiency in 5 nursing assistant skills). The cost of the exam is $120, with an additional $50 fee paid to the state. Upon successful completion of the exam, your name gets listed on the Nevada Nursing Assistant Registry allowing you to work in any medical setting throughout the State of Nevada. You must keep in mind that CNA certification must be renewed every 24 months.
